Malware attacks are breaking the backbone of our economy where attackers exploit the vulnerable systems using ransomware-as-a-service operations such as REvil and Avaddon. We have seen recent ransomware attacks in healthcare (San Diego Family Care (SDFC), SAC Health Systems, Harper County Community Hospital, CaptureRx, etc), and utility sectors (colonial pipelines, etc) affecting our day-to-day life drastically. The current solution offering in the market is inefficient to deal with new strains of ransomware variants cropping like a dandelion.
Our researchers have developed Mal{AI}D, malware detection and response tool using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning techniques. Where we analyze not only signatures but also endpoint behaviors such as API functions, syscalls such as VirtualAlloc and NTAllocateVirtualMemory, ntdll.dll dynamic linked library (DLL)’s and low-level assembly-level processes are exploited to instruct a CPU to perform an action such as allocating memory, creating a file or writing data stored in a specific buffer to disk.
